Members of our May Market leadership team meeting to plan another great May Market!

Why Join Arasapha?

Arasapha is not your grandmother's garden club! Many of our members are not especially interested in gardening--they join because our three signature projects are fun and great ways to meet the nicest people in town!
  • May Market, where we sell plants, herbs, donated household items, and more, is our major fundraiser, with proceeds benefitting the gardens of the historic Amstel and Dutch House gardens and Arasapha's programs.
  • Wreath Workshop is an annual project in which we decorate over 100 all-natural wreaths that adorn the Historic District's public buildings and businesses during the holiday season.
  • A Day in Old New Castle, organized by the New Castle Community Partnership, is another annual event for which we identify and organize private gardens that are opened to the public.
Arasapha members also receive the following benefits:
  • An annual membership directory
  • "Welcome mentors": club members who help new members get involved with club activities
  • "Garden mentors": club members who visit new members' gardens and offer advice
  • Opportunities to learn about gardening through May Market, our garden tips webpage, our annual members-only Garden Walkabout and, depending on interest, other periodic educational opportunities
  • Opportunities to elect board members, vote on bylaws changes, and contribute to club plans, principles, and policies
